Care Home Visits

Statistically 60% of residents in care homes experience poor mental health and yet only 15-27% of those suffering are identified by staff members.
Berwick & Borders Therapies offer in-person visits for individual residents.  Counselling, Psychotherapy and other acknowledged talking therapies for older people have proven highly beneficial in improving mental and emotional well-being.  They include helping to recognise intrusive thoughts, building coping skills and reducing feelings of frustration, isolation or grief.  The one to one therapy process helps alleviate the effects of depression or anxiety by giving focused attention to the individual persons identity which preserves their self-esteem and independence whilst improving relationships with others.

By us assisting a resident to make sense of their life, together with coming to terms with changes in their circumstances, allows for a calmer, happier and more contented person.  Each individual session lasts up to 1 hour and can be paid for directly by the resident (or their family).  Alternatively, we can invoice the care home where they live.  We make no charge for travelling up to 15 miles radius of Cornhill-on-Tweed.
If you are a resident or family member / friend of a resident and would like more information please contact us today.  Inquiries from local care homes are very welcomed and we will be pleased to discuss,in complete confidence, any specific requirements you may have.

Support for Veterans

Berwick & Borders Therapies offers help for UK Veterans who have previously seen service in the Army, Air Force or Navy.  Our full range of therapies (both on-line and in-person) are available at reduced costs for ex-service personnel and their immediate families.  We fully acknowledge the particular mental and emotional issues associated with the experience of having served our country and the difficulties many have discovered in fully re-adjusting to civilian life.
